HP Officejet 7720 firmware downgrade
I’ve been using an HP Officejet 7720 wide-format printer for a couple of years now. It’s a pretty good printer, off course it gets stuck from time to time, but it works well enough. I’ve been using 123inkt cartridges. Not because they are better, but but because you can easily buy three 123inkt cartridges for 1 HP cartridge. I’ve seen adverts mentioning that if you use HP Instant-ink you get an automatic firmware upgrade that will block non-HP cartridges. I can understand that from the HP point of view since you’re subscribing to their inkt-as-a-service plan, you need to use those cartridges. I’ve also been looking into instant-ink for my printer, but i found it wasn’t supported. However i found that HP is also blocking printers that are not compatible with instant-ink, with the “excuse” that they can not guarantee quality. Nice excuse, but my printer is out of warranty…
My version of Rendang
This is a dish made in a slowcooker or in a iron cast on the BBQ.Personaly i prefer using the slowcooker, so the steps are written for that process. Chart with dynamic power pricing
following this blogpost by Danny Oosterveer i’ve added a chart within home assistant that includes the dynamic power pricing per hour of the current day. However it was, in my opinion, a bit hard to few at a glance. To change this, i’ve added colors to differentiate between “cheap” and “expensive” hours. I’ve put the code up on my git.

My serverfarm
Well let’s start this of with a quick show of my playground. My total network exists 5 cloud VPS’s, two physical servers of which one is a hypervisor. With exception of the hypervisor, which is Proxmox VE, i’ve chosen to run Alma Linux on all my servers. I used to run CentOS, but with all the crap Red Hat pulled they lost all forms of trust with me. I initially switched from CentOS to OpenSUSE which ran fine until one of my physical servers kept giving issues with kernel modules. Because my installations are all build in Ansible and i don’t want to maintain multiple Ansible sets for different distributions, this made me switch to Alma Linux.
